Royal visit to the Crick

The Francis Crick Institute

This week, the Francis Crick Institute welcomed the Queen, Duke of Edinburgh and Duke of York for the official opening of largest biomedical research facility in Europe. They were given a tour of the large facility, meeting those who had been involved in its creation.

Its founding partners, the Medical Research Council (MRC), Cancer Research UK, Wellcome, UCL (University College London), Imperial College London and King’s College London, come together to house 1,250 scientists under one roof. They aim to tackle the challenging scientific questions regarding health and disease, leading to discoveries that will improve the lives of all.
