We have teamed up with architects O’Donnell + Tuomey to design a new opera house in Shanghai, China.
Situated on the site of the Expo 2010 (where we worked on the UK Pavilion), the ‘City of Opera’ will comprise three halls of brick with an 1,800-seat opera hall, a 650-seat theatre and a 400-seat performance space, along with accompanying conference rooms, education facilities and outdoor performance areas.
Our design is currently one of two shortlisted as part of a competition, with the winner to be decided in the near future.
