The Crick opens

The Francis Crick Institute

The Francis Crick Institute, the largest biomedical research institute in Europe, has now opened its doors. Over the coming months, research groups will start to take up residence within the King’s Cross-based building.

With over 100 labs under one (huge) roof, the Crick will house 1,250 scientists along with 250 support staff by 2017. A collaboration of six founding partners, Wellcome, Medical Research Council, Cancer Research UK, UCL, Imperial College London and King’s College London, the institute will help the fight against some of the 21st century’s deadliest diseases.
