33 Holborn Place (Sainsbury’s Business Centre)

This office development fronts Holborn Circus in Central London. Designed by Foster + Partners, it was constructed for Gemini Commercial Investments by Bovis Construction under a construction management form of contract.

We were appointed to design a proposal for the specialist metalwork and glazing package that was to be fabricated and installed by CMF Ltd. The package included a three-storey glass wall and a glass floor at the main ground floor entrance, a six-storey feature glass stair suspended from the roof structure by tie rods and a glass floor to the secondary atrium which occurs above sixth floor level.

Careful attention had to be given to both the design and detailing of all components of these exposed elements of structure to ensure the demands of the architect were met within the confines of the budget allocated to the package.

Specialist glazing and metalwork design for this office building in Holborn.
