The Terrace, Tooley Street

The Terrace in Tooley Street is part of the massive More London complex facing the Tower of London across the river on London’s South Bank.

This project incorporates and augments a series of existing buildings and mediates between the scale of the huge commercial developments on the river and the smaller scale of Tooley Street.

Two existing pubs form book ends with the new structure, replacing decayed and irregular buildings in between. On the ground floor are restaurants and wine bars while the upper floors provide office space for start-up businesses. Across the roof level is an open plan glass penthouse, taking advantage of views to the north and south. Overall the structure takes account of existing floor levels and the differing spatial and servicing needs of new businesses and restaurants.
