Computational Technician.

AKT has an in-house applied research team – called p.art – that is comprised of engineers, architects, technicians and software developers. This group is responsible for researching and implementing advanced digital AEC workflows for design, analysis and optimization.

Much of our work is undertaken in collaboration with world-leading architects for high profile clients, giving our designers and engineers unparalleled opportunities to extend their skills and expertise.

We are now looking to hire additional Computational Technicians in our research team, to support AKT II’s engineering teams on the delivery of complex large-scale projects. In this role you will have the opportunity to work on some of the most interesting and complex buildings around the world, with current complete projects in over 40 countries.

What is the role?

As a Computational Technician you will report to an Associate or Associate Director, and your responsibilities could include, but will not be limited to, the following:

  • Create and maintain BIM entities, following company standards.
  • Create digital workflows between modelling software (Rhino/GH) and BIM (Revit).
  • Collaborate and coordinate with other disciplines in the development of shared BIM entities.
  • Assist in the development and improvement of AKT II’s in-house BIM Procedures.
  • Create bespoke BIM plugins for automation and efficiency.

Minimum Requirements

  • Experience in AEC industry experience.
  • Experience with Revit, Rhino and Grasshopper.
  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in BIM, Architecture or Engineering.

Bonus Skills

  • Experience using the Revit API.
  • Proficiency in C#.
  • Knowledge of Dynamo.
