Flagship new tower approved for London’s Tech City.

99 City Road.

The transformative regeneration on the Old Street Roundabout – designed by KPF for developer Endurance Land – absorbs an existing mid-rise 1980s structure within the delivery of a multifunctional new high-rise programme that introduces community facilities, pedestrian permeability and streetscape activation.

Amidst London’s ‘Silicon Roundabout’ technology district, where AKT II has already designed the high-rise White Collar Factory as well as the nearby HYLO and One Crown Place towers, we’ve now received planning approval for this landmark new 35-storey development.

Architecturally, KPF’s design draws from the historic Victorian buildings of the surrounding Bunhill Fields, Finsbury Square and South Shoreditch conservation areas while introducing a modern workspace and amenity programme that’s designed to WELL Core Platinum, NABERS 5 Stars and BREEAM Outstanding.

Altogether, the project delivers more than 30 storeys of modern workspace – including 10% as affordable provision – together with a variety of community and amenity spaces as well as outdoor terraces, ‘end of journey’ sustainable travel facilities and a new pedestrian link that connects between City Road and Cowper Street.
