British Land masterplan hits milestone.

A new major regeneration project by British Land has hit a significant milestone as Southwark Council Planning Committee (SCPC) resolved to grant planning permission for the Canada Water masterplan in line with recommendations from an officer from SCPC. We are pleased to announce we are supporting British Land on two of the phase 1 buildings (A1 & K1).

The scheme by British Land is to create a new diverse town centre in Canada Water. The 53-acre masterplan is a mixed-use scheme that will deliver retail, education, leisure, commercial office space and residential units – 3000 new homes with 35% of them being affordable housing.

Director Steve Toon is overseeing two of our projects within the Canada Water masterplan.  Steve was with British Land and the teams last night when planning was granted – ‘to support British Land and the wider design teams in such an ambitious and complex application is truly an honour, and we at AKT II are looking forward to the next stages of design and ultimately helping British Land’s supply chain complete the project over many years to come’.
