A three-day festival that ‘inspires and empowers people to create a better future through design and creativity’, Hanif will be taking the stage, amongst a great line up, to share his thoughts on the relationship between architecture and engineering demonstrating this union through select AKT II projects. Throughout our practice’s history, we have been fortunate enough to work alongside some of the world’s most incredible architects and clients, devising structural design solutions to innovate and forge a closer relationship between design and quality of life.
‘As a design-led practice, we have always approached our projects with a desire to achieve economic, ecological and design-focused solutions for architects we have partnered with over the years.’ – Hanif Kara.
He added, ‘Design Indaba has especially given African architects and designers an international platform to showcase the immense creativity that comes from the great continent.’
Design Indaba has previously welcomed the likes of Thomas Heatherwick and Asif Khan as well as globally renowned designers like Tom Dixon.
This year at Design Indaba, Hanif is speaking alongside fellow Harvard Graduate Design School colleagues Jeanne Gang of Studio Gang and named world’s most influential architect by Time magazine in 2019, as well as Lyndon Neri and Rossana Hu of Neri & Hu, the acclaimed Shanghai-based architecture and design firm, amongst other internationally recognised designers and architects.
