Director announcement – Robin Adams.

2021 marks a landmark year for us as a practice as we celebrate our 25th anniversary. As well as adjusting to the new world, throughout the year we will reflect on key milestones and celebrate some of the many remarkable achievements of our teams and share details of some of our ongoing exceptional work, in tandem with planning, designing and laying foundations for our collective future. Our goal to remain a world-leading design engineering studio requires forethought.

As we begin the march into the future with optimism, we have also reached an individual milestone for one of our founding triumvirate, Robin Adams, who is stepping back from his day-to-day engagement with AKT II and from his COO role across the Tyréns UK Group.

From the inception of the practice in 1996, Robin’s critical role in driving our success through steadfast leadership and exemplary management of all aspects of AKT II is much appreciated. He remains revered within our own practice and across the wider industry for his ‘steely’ skills, those of a paternal figure who has guided all aspects that make our shape as a practice. In parallel, he has been remarkable in recruiting the most talented people, training our leadership groups and conflating the thoughts of our staff with the needs of the industry to sculpt AKT II into a business perfectly equipped and looking towards the challenges of the coming years. Thanks to his contribution we have won the Consultant of the Year often and remain unequivocally amongst the best of the best engineering consultancies in the UK.

In recent years Robin also engaged with Tyréns UK Holdings taking up a contemporary role as Chief Operations Officer to the benefit of sister companies across their UK operations.

The practice is well equipped to adapt again to the challenges we face and the future; none of which would have been possible without Robin Adams.
