Major South Bank tower tops out.

Opus Bankside Yards.

Opus at Bankside Yards has now topped out, reaching its full 50-storey height and marking a key milestone for this transformative central London development.

Celebrating structural completion high above the South Bank.

The topping-out ceremony, held on the 41st floor, brought together the project’s delivery partners and stakeholders to celebrate the structure’s completion. It offered a striking reminder of the progress achieved and the panoramic views now unlocked across the Thames. A time-lapse video documenting the full structural build phase captures the momentum of the construction programme, as well as the collaborative efforts that have shaped the tower’s rise on the South Bank skyline.

Progress within a transforming mixed-use district.

Opus is the first building to complete structurally within the wider Bankside Yards masterplan — a major mixed-use district spanning 1.4 million ft² between Tate Modern and Blackfriars Station. As the development takes shape around a new public realm and reinstated pedestrian routes through the historic railway viaducts, the project is setting a new benchmark for high-density urban living. AKT II is proud to have worked with Native Land and the wider team from concept to delivery, helping to unlock the structural potential of the site while responding to complex constraints, including the live rail infrastructure and flood risk considerations.

A significant step towards completion.

With façade and interior works now under way, the topping out of Opus signals both technical achievement and a visible turning point for this landmark development. The next phase brings us one step closer to welcoming residents into a new, vibrant London neighbourhood.
