New project for our regional Manchester office.

Our Manchester office has another new project under their belt. We’re working alongside architects O’Donnell + Tuomey on a new extension for the University of Liverpool’s School of Architecture.

After submitting designs for a competition, the Dublin-based firm was selected off an impressive shortlist as the architect who would design the extension for the University of Liverpool. This new building will replace an existing car park between the school’s Leverhulme building and Basil Spence’s Chadwick Laboratory physics building.

The jury’s comments on the winning design; ‘The jurors unanimously voted for the design of O’Donnell + Tuomey for the way in which the proposal reorganised the space in both the Georgian terraces and Leverhulme building but also established a new building subtly inflected towards the new park and the existing cathedral.’

AKT II will be providing our structural engineering services to this project.
